John Frith, APR

John Frith, APR*, is an award-winning public relations expert and writer with more than a quarter-century’s experience in public relations and journalism.

He guided communications for several top California trade associations, including the California Building Industry Association, the Civil Justice Association of California, and the California Alliance for Jobs before founding The Write Stuff Communications in 2016. Since then, he has helped clients including Bank of America, the Family Business Association of California, the North State Building Industry Association, Ventura County Coastal Association of Realtors, and the Farm Credit Alliance tell their stories.

During that time, he dramatically increased coverage for Bank of America in the Fresno-Visalia market by developing solid relationships with area reporters and editors, leading to more than 90 media hits in 2024 alone. He has helped craft and then place op-eds for various clients in the Sacramento Business Journal, Sacramento Bee, Los Angeles Times, and San Francisco Chronicle and also tells clients’ stories through blog posts and social media.

In recognition of his public relations accomplishments, in 2023, he was named Influencer of the Year by the California Capitol Chapter of the Public Relations Society of America (PRSA) – the chapter’s top award. He also served on three occasions as a chapter board member, including three years as the chapter’s delegate to the national Leadership Assembly.

Frith graduated from the University of Southern California with a degree in journalism and began his career as a reporter and editor before becoming a congressional press secretary and later a state government public affairs director. He lives in Folsom with his wife, Sandy, and loves bike riding, the USC Trojans, and the occasional good cigar.
